When should I call 911?

In many counties that have gone to an emergency 911 telephone system, the system is hindered by the public substituting 911 for the regular 7-digit police telephone number.  The 911 system is only to be used in an emergency.  An emergency call has been defined as crimes in progress, all fire and ambulance calls, and all motor vehicle accidents that have just occurred.  Any other calls that are to be received by the Carmel Police Department should be called directly to the department's 7-digit line which is 628-1300.
Town of Carmel residents may still report Police emergencies and any other police matters directly to the Carmel Police Department by dialing 628-1300.

How do I pay a parking or traffic ticket?

All tickets are handled by the Carmel Justice Court located in the Town Hall at 60 McAlpin Avenue Mahopac, N.Y. 10541—their phone number is 845-628-1500.
All the instructions are on the back of the tickets on how to pay the fine or plead non-guilty and receive a trial date.
