Is part of my land considered wetlands and do I need a permit to perform work in the area?

A State of New York licensed Wetlands Scientist would have to do an investigation on your property to determine if wetlands are present. If wetlands are present and the wetland area is greater than 5,000 square feet then you may be required to obtain a Wetland Permit from the Town of Carmel Environment if you wish to perform any work within the wetland or within 100 feet (the buffer area).  Please note that there may be a need to obtain an Army Corps of Engineering Nationwide permit or a New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Wetland Permit.
